Fr Demetrios Bathrellos studied Classics and Theology at the University of Athens and Systematic Theology at King's College, London, from which he was awarded a PhD in 2001. He teaches systematic theology at the Hellenic Open University (Athens) and, as a visiting Professor, at the Institute for Orthodox Christian Studies (Cambridge). His publications include The Byzantine Christ: Person, Nature, and Will in the Christology of St Maximus the Confessor (Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2004),An Outline of Dogmatic Theology (Athens: En Plo, 2008), Christians and post-secularization (Athens: En Plo, 2016; in Greek) and Behold the Man: The Doctrine of the Sinlessness of Christ (Athens: En Plo, 2017; in Greek) as well as several articles in theological journals and other academic publications. He serves as a priest in the Church of the Ascension in Drafi (Metropolis of Mesogaia and Laureotiki). He is married to Kyriaki Triantaphyllidou and they have five children.
